I don't know if this lady is talking about Black cabs or private hire vehicles but one would assume it was black cabs. I don't know the fare from Anfield to the Radisson but I doubt it is 25 pounds even taking into account waiting time. Just wait until Aintree starts next month lol

Letter: You say - Rip-off taxi drivers

Mrs V. Walsh

WHY is it that our taxi drivers seem to think they are a law unto themselves?

My brother recently welcomed eight Italian visitors to our city. They had come over to see the Liverpool v Milan game and it was their first time in Liverpool.

It was a truly wonderful night, marred only by greedy taxi drivers.

My brother had arranged to meet his friends in the Radisson SAS hotel after the match. He was both disgusted and embarrassed to discover that four of his friends had been charged pounds 25 for their taxi and the other four had been charged pounds 20. My brother on the other hand had been charged the usual fare of just pounds 7.

What kind of impression does this create for our city in this special year?

It is appalling that taxi drivers feel justified in blatantly ripping people off, just because they can.

Maybe the drivers had been in an Italian Taxi, where tourists are guaranteed to be ripped (or is it riped, skippy?) off?
