National Driver Safety Meeting 28-04-08 (2)

There has been some confusion regarding this issue in respect of CCTV and Driver shields.

Therefore, I would like to confirm that the GMB PDB is not insisting on compulsory CCTV and Driver Shields nationwide.

We are demanding the option to use these two crime deterrents for Taxi and Private Hire drivers.

The GMB PDB is also demanding financial assistance for safety training.

Also to bring into the public domain the unacceptable fact of the 12 drivers murdered in the past 12 months and the many, many more that have been attacked.

Anybody interested in joining us in London on the 28th April 2008 should contact me for more information.

Regards
BB

Where was it said that it was a GMB National proposal, for mandatory screens and CCTV? :?

I think once this safety meeting has passed, the GMB should consider a national policy of de-limitation.

That would give some something to moan about. 8-[

I think it's hard for some to work out that you can only pursue policies that your members have voted for.
