ps. do you think the one shop system is better now

Thanks I will.

No I think it's rubbish (I am trying to be polite :D ) At least in Crosby you had a bit of a chance the person behind the desk knew what they were talking about  now you are dealing with half wit council employees who couldn't give a damn, and it takes forever for someone to deal with your issue.

They do seem hard to grasp things in Southport... A little bit slow on the up take.....( just joking)..

There are many different points of view to be considered and that could take all night.
I think drivers should have a safe environment to work, I think drivers should not have to work 60 -hours a week to earn a living . I believe that all the drivers should be represented. you would have to be more specific on what you're asking.

i have just been waiding / reading through the info for taxi renewals from York Council for the year 1 June 09

all new licenced vehicles shall not be equiped with any CCTV system without approval of the Council

does any one know what cctv are on the list considering the list of cctv for taxis is pretty low/slim, seems to me they dont realy want ccctv in cabs

so all those who have the cctv system in now, will it be considered, or not considered

the problem is now is that the medical documents have to be back in to the Council on the 18th of April, thats 10 day away, i canot get an eye test till monday pm, as taxi medicals are classed as PRIVATE WORK by doctors [ in NHS time] an appointment at the Docs is not yet clear as he has large work load with ill people

so is there anything in law which can catch me out by not having my medical docs at the Council offices by 18 April when the matter is out of my hands

If part of the council's criteria for you being 'fit and proper' is an up-to-date medical, then I think there's a good chance they wont re-license without the medical.

But if the council haven't given you a reasonable time to get the medical, then the best you have is a complaint to the Ombudsman.

Remind me why you can't/couldn't go to another GP?

because it say on the form that it must be done insight of medical documents

i showed the form to a lady doctor who lives 2 house away, she looked at it and said, your stuffed, otherwise i would have done it for you at a lot less price

i emailed the LO about why i only got 14 days notice, re medical, he said he apologised for the short notice but due to staff shortages and the extra workload, they sent out the forms rather late, he is noting this, so it wont happen again, and thanked me for bringing it to his notice
