Taxi Driver Online learnt yesterday that the Chairman of the National Taxi Association, Mr Norman Deegan, passed away.

All those behind this site send their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr Deegan.

A very sad loss.

I never had a lot to do with Mr Deegan, but I remember listening to him on Radio Five campaigning for CCTV, in all licensed vehicles that want it.

He put the case for CCTV in a way I haven't heard anyone else put across in such a professional manner to the national media.

This trade is severely lacking in people who front up and try their best to defend drivers, and it is indeed a sad day that we have lost one such chap.

A professional Taxi trade rep with so much integrity and common sense, taken from us at a young age.

A sad day indeed.

The late Chairman of the National Taxi Association, Norman Deegan, will be remembered in the first issue of the TDO magazine. If anyone wishes to express their personal condolences then message the text to me. Anyone who has a decent photograph of Mr Deegan will they please consider letting us have it.

Regards

JD

It would be against my principles to use a photograph from a magazine that I often criticise. However if the person who took the photograph sends me a copy then that would be perfectly acceptable. lol

Besides, that link doesn't work for me but thanks for the effort.

Regards

JD
