I suggest that pulling individuals up based on hearsay complaints hardly protects individual rights.

Did someone tell porkies Jim? Thats well out of order
At least it was'nt a brick through your window or worse.
Or maybe some thug of a driver who picks on decrepit old men and thinks he's some sort of hard man,as i said,"well out of order".

You know it occurs to me that if the cops can pull a perv out from an internet connection, there shouldn't be any difficulty grasping a plink like you.

Guard your words saf. Just wait for the tug on your collar.

When the car was inspected, was everything ok?

The car is near to its annual inspection, as such there is every likelihood that such a vehicle would have some need of repair.

However, the complaint was allegedly specifically about the bodywork.

And, despite the impending inspection, only two things were found and required to be repaired.

This consisted of a minor dent at the top of the rear window and which was caused by a garage door coming down upon it. The taxi had been through at least three annual inspections without any requirement for repair.

The second requirement for repair was a slight indentation, about four inches in diameter, caused by a member of the public aiming a kick at the rear panel. This was covered by an advertisement and barely perceptible.

Neither would have been readily apparent by any member of the public.

It is therefore entirely likely that the complaint was spurious and malicious, designed to cause a problem for the owner and to create division with the driver.

It is the system that encourages such actions. It is the system that needs to be overhauled to bring accuser before the accused. This would put an end to a system which is geared to osracise licence holders who have no redress other than an expensive court process.

We should remember that councils are taking ever more powers to allow them to do this and adding ever more draconian penalties like temporary suspension, requirements to attend anger management course, driving tests, medicals &etc.

Until now, no one has thought to do anything to arrest these creeping powers, probably on the basis that if you keep your head down you will never have to confront them.

But there are any number of ways in which the unsuspecting could find themselves facing sanction from a fascist council, and fascist councillors who would do you down in a heartbeat just to make themselves appear powerful and feel good.

That's where we're heading unless we ask the questions now!!!

Are you speaking from experience regarding a "perv being pulled from an internet connection"?.
Why would the cops want to pull me?
This just shows your paranoia again Jim,i am only pointing out there are a lot of guys driving taxi's in Edinburgh that would not bat an eye lid at doing you or your property damage.
Just look at your side kick,he shows he is so proud of attacking an elderly taxi driver and gaining some sort of notoriety.
Would you say he was a fit and proper person to hold a licence. [-X

A lot fitter to drive the public than a mental defective like you.

You're obviously a key board hardman. Keep the threats coming.

They show you're hurting. All that does is increase the pleasure of hurting you.

Ehjoy plink!!!

BTW

Perhaps I should that your apparent hurt is only in your own mind. While you will be thrashing around self flagellating, real business oriented members of our illustrious trade will be taking full advantage of those like you without the wit to seize the commercial opportunity.

Never claimed to be a "hardman"Jim thats you jumping to the wrong conclusion once again
Why would i be hurting Jim,you are not capable of hurting anyone especially not me thats you in cuckoo land again.
You are the laughing stock of the Edinburgh taxi trade, surely you know that with all the insults and threats you receive.
So you are a, "real business oriented member of our illustrious trade",    ,tell me Jim, how much have you wasted on all your failed crusades up to now? That sounds real business orientated to me
and tell me how much would you expect to make on a daily basis if you where to succeed, taking on board that the number of taxis would considerably increase and the same amount of people would be using them.........yea real business orientated.
You really do not have a clue Jim do you.

So, it's a warped agenda to bring justice to our trade.

To have that trade behave in the same commercial way as every other market sector.

To remove the restrictive practices that were removed everywhere else years ago.

To bring an end to the lack of representation in the decision making affecting our livelihoods.

To quell undemocratic and unaccountable government.

You're mad saf. Just plain crazy.

If you think this is warped, get out of the hall of mirrors. You've wasted your admission money. Your brain now thinks the distortion you've presented it with is reality.

BTW There's a few stings in the tail of our campaign still to come. It's not just about the court cases, it's not just about May.

Your not bringing justice you mad man,you are doing this for your own personal gain, simple as.
Why was it ok when you where quoted as saying,"Edinburgh does not need more taxi's".You still avoid this question Jim why?
It is you who is mad Jim,i feel sorry for your family and what they might have to go through if you are successful.
The funny thing is Jim it is your distorted views and how you see things panning out that should worry you.Remember the saying though Jim,"if you keep telling yourself something, it is only a matter of time before you genuinely start to believe it ".
So there is more to come from the dynamic duds, theres a surprise. What next....take over the world.

Personal gain? Is this all that concerns you?

Do you anyone who does anything other than for personal gain? So, why would I be any different?

And if that were really true, do you think I would have clouded my attempt at personal gain with the de-restriction argument which has simply put the council into a more entrenched position as they fight for their, and your, greed and control freakery?

You're mad saf. And angry that my politics will shaft you. And I look forward to that. As I said to Dewar, the prospect of reaching into your pocket, taking out a notional 50 grand checque and tearing it up before your eyes, well I get a kinda kick out of that. My loathing for you and your greedo, selfish kind will be somewhat satiated by such an imaginary action.

As for my statement that Edinburgh doesn't need more taxis? That was yonks ago. Things change. The market's changed. Taxi rentals haven't modified. Difficult trading conditions don't mean lower rentals. Just drivers working longer to pay greedy owners (Not all fortunately). And longer hours means lower public safety.

The council clinging to restriction is tantamount to them negating their responsibilities to ensure public safety.

As well, my position change reflects my desire to do you and your pathetic ilk down. Maintaining that position played into the hands of vested interests. Such interests need to be destroyed. I am all about destroying them, whenever and however long it takes. The longer the happier I will be.

Get used to it. Some already have and are planning to capitalise on your perceived misfortune. If you can't survive in an un-restricted market, then you don't deserve to be in it.

The trade is constructed and controlled like a medieval fiefdom. It can't survive like this. The international capital from companies like Comcab show the way forward. It will prevail. Change and modernisation is upon us. It's drivers and the public who will benefit. And those who invest in real things, like companies and vehicles for instance, will benefit. But those who would invest in the illusion that is a licence plate, well such folly will see them lose big time.

Politicians should be able to see this. But they're so corrupted by the system that they've very quickly become part of the problem rather than the means to solve it.

Now saf, watch you don't crick your back while writhing in pain at all this. Backpain and and the council will take your licence off you. Cos you won't be able to manhandle all those illegal wheelchair passengers into a vehicle that's not designed to handle them with the dignity and safety they deserve.

Saf, we know you only come on here in some vain attempt to protect your little illusion of - Super Saf, “taxi driving businessman extrordiner”. It’s not our fault is all a big lie. You can hardly blame us for exposing the [edited by admin]* the council peddle. I mean come on, 50K for a plate, you must be having a laugh? I speak to owners every day that have no intention of selling, and even they laugh at people paying that kind of money especially now. A lot are convinced the plate value will crash simply because it can’t go on for ever. If the council won’t pull the plug the economy will, it’s that simple.

I think it’s a real shame that guys like you don‘t have the brains to think for yourself, but thankfully, a lot are coming around to our way of thinking.

:D

More threats saf. More mention of personal details. I'm quite relaxed about this but heed this.

The cab office and the police are well aware of what is happening here. Any further threats from you and I will make it my personal business to dig you out.

You got to grow up. You want to issue threats, and I have to say I'm not impressed, then speak to me personally and speak your mind.

The truth Ross. Only the truth.

And remember, you agreed with this. I still have the thread on my disk.

I'm surprised you complain about this. Because this IS you.

But, do you now deny it?
