By definition private hire is not public transport. If it includes private hire I would be quids in with my limos.

Private hire is as much public transport as hackney carriage. [-X

I disagree

Private Hire Vehicles are classed as public transport on Merseyside. Both hackney carriage and private hire are fully recognised within Merseytravel's Local Transport Plan as valuable components of a fully integrated public transport network. Whenever Delta comes across a place like Liverpool Airport that may not have initially made adequate provision for private hire services they are politely referred to the sections contained within the Local Transport Plan that specifically refer to private hire. This is why private hire can collect their pre-booked passengers free of charge from the hatched area next to the yellow submarine. I'm glad we don't have to pay to go through that hackney carriage turn-style
