Personal gain? Is this all that concerns you?

Do you anyone who does anything other than for personal gain? So, why would I be any different?

And if that were really true, do you think I would have clouded my attempt at personal gain with the de-restriction argument which has simply put the council into a more entrenched position as they fight for their, and your, greed and control freakery?

You're mad saf. And angry that my politics will shaft you. And I look forward to that. As I said to Dewar, the prospect of reaching into your pocket, taking out a notional 50 grand checque and tearing it up before your eyes, well I get a kinda kick out of that. My loathing for you and your greedo, selfish kind will be somewhat satiated by such an imaginary action.

As for my statement that Edinburgh doesn't need more taxis? That was yonks ago. Things change. The market's changed. Taxi rentals haven't modified. Difficult trading conditions don't mean lower rentals. Just drivers working longer to pay greedy owners (Not all fortunately). And longer hours means lower public safety.

The council clinging to restriction is tantamount to them negating their responsibilities to ensure public safety.

As well, my position change reflects my desire to do you and your pathetic ilk down. Maintaining that position played into the hands of vested interests. Such interests need to be destroyed. I am all about destroying them, whenever and however long it takes. The longer the happier I will be.

Get used to it. Some already have and are planning to capitalise on your perceived misfortune. If you can't survive in an un-restricted market, then you don't deserve to be in it.

The trade is constructed and controlled like a medieval fiefdom. It can't survive like this. The international capital from companies like Comcab show the way forward. It will prevail. Change and modernisation is upon us. It's drivers and the public who will benefit. And those who invest in real things, like companies and vehicles for instance, will benefit. But those who would invest in the illusion that is a licence plate, well such folly will see them lose big time.

Politicians should be able to see this. But they're so corrupted by the system that they've very quickly become part of the problem rather than the means to solve it.

Now saf, watch you don't crick your back while writhing in pain at all this. Backpain and and the council will take your licence off you. Cos you won't be able to manhandle all those illegal wheelchair passengers into a vehicle that's not designed to handle them with the dignity and safety they deserve.

Your politics won't shaft me you silly little man, what party do you represent is it the monster raving loony party, you remember the one. Nobody listened to him either, and we all know what happened to him. One thing is for sure Jim and that is survival in the trade,i know and so do the majority of drivers, that you will find it very very difficult to survive. Can you imagine the fireworks down Edinburgh, thats what i hear anyway."it's the drivers and the public that will benefit",now what did i say about you being mad. #-o

More threats saf. More mention of personal details. I'm quite relaxed about this but heed this.

The cab office and the police are well aware of what is happening here. Any further threats from you and I will make it my personal business to dig you out.

You got to grow up. You want to issue threats, and I have to say I'm not impressed, then speak to me personally and speak your mind.

There goes your paranoia again Jim,tell me where in that post i threatened you, you really should calm down, what with your deteriorating health and all that
Don't feel threatened by me Jim, i'm not the one that assaults frail old men, that would be a kind of liberty.
If you didn't want everybody to know what part of Edinburgh you came from why advertise it at any opportunity you get?
You know the repercussions of your actions,i am just pointing out what i hear on the ranks and the guys who tell me what they have heard, surely that doesn't come as a surprise to you or maybe you think people are just going to roll over and leave you in peace.
So once again Jim where you live is common knowledge, remember there are a lot of houses in Edinburgh, did i give your house number?,did i give the colour of your door?as i said,"all common knowledge".
The cab office and police have more important things to be worrying about Jim,you know, things like some of the states of the taxi's on the road and the unfit and proper people driving them.
Can you imagine if they investigated all complaints about what someone has said on a forum.
Btw,how good was the frederick street rank working last night, you seem to have been sitting there a long time,so much for this unmet demand. So your answer to why you said, "the trade was ok the way it is",was because you said it "yonks ago".So your actions are that of a bitter little man,who would have guessed.

And remember, you agreed with this. I still have the thread on my disk.

I'm surprised you complain about this. Because this IS you.

But, do you now deny it?

And as I've said before go ahead, do what you want with the thread !

I couldn't care less, but the point Mr saf was alluding to was that Mr Taylor was wasting his time, but that same accusation was made against Mr Ali T and Mr Salteri.

Now Mr Taylor may not be successful, but I hope he is, in the same way that both Mr Ali T and Mr Salteri were.

You don't half go on about things Skull.

Realise once and for all Skull, the dream is over, there will not be any derestriction of the Taxi trade in Edinburgh for the foreseeable future. :)

Stu, you are a fecking ar*e. Who the feck would want de-restriction?
Plates are selling at 50K a time, and erse*les like you are buying them.

This is about lining up mugs for the slaughter.

De-restriction will come, but the council cannot afford to let it happen, just yet.

This is about keeping the ball in the air - you being the ball

Ask yourself: what happens when we win? More applications perhaps?

Stu, 50K buys you feck all in this life.

However, I would agree, it’s better than not having 50K, but at the end of the day, what’s 50K in real terms?

Not a fecking lot - 50K buys you options, nothing more.

You need at least, 250K hard cash, to get on the ladder, now you have choices ?

Stu, with 50K, you get to choose your shifts?

Qualtiy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      good luck stu .....

Well it depends what you do with it I suppose, it's funny you should mention 250k because I was just thinking about that, damn, another few months to go.

Even at the current average annual wage in this country I'm on at least half a million over the time I have left to work, even thats not bad for the initial investment. 8)

It's a bit long term but I firmly believe that I will win in the end, whatever happens. :-| :)
