On an American fuel site, they're moaning because as of today it's now $3.88 per Gallon for diesel.

FFS. £1.94 a gallon?

Great.

When the engine grinds to a halt and seizes, drivers can flock back to him and complain.

I think I'll stick to branded fuel, it's cheaper than a £4000 engine rebuild.

If ye's think it's bad now..........................

Opec, the oil producing cartel, has warned that the price of crude could keep rising to reach $200 a barrel.

Opec president Chakib Khelil blamed the falling value of the US dollar, which makes other assets, including oil, more attractive for foreign investors.

His comments came as oil prices hit a fresh high, just below $120 a barrel.

wheres it going to stop, with the knock on effect of everything thats moved by road prices increasing its getting out of hand.

be plenty of cheap motors coming on the market soon, but it wont be buying the cars , they won't be able to give them away it will be affording to keep them on the road.

If Oil reaches $200 per barell, that'll mean over £2 a litre at the pumps, which means over £100 a day for me in fuel.

No way Jose.

Of course for the brave souls that keep driving, I'll kill the trade, people simply won't be able to afford it, bread will double, eggs, milk etc etc

I'll sit this one out I think.

The price in the good old USA is, roughly,

£0.40p a litre for petrol.

£0.50 a litre for diesel.

So folks is the problem a world problem or a local problem? :?

I was in the petrol station again when the tanker came in i said to the driver just leave you keys in the ignition and go for cup of tea  just say to your boss you were hijacked by some desperate taxi drivers looking for cheap diesel :-o. His reply was the way fuel is going up the tanker drivers are getting worried as they think its only a matter of time before this will happen as its like liquid gold getting, so more trackers are getting fitted to there vehicles. So the oil companies must be getting worried of hijacking.
I wouldn't be surprised. How much fuel does a tanker hold? x £1.15 per litre.

Easier than robbing a bank?

6000 gallons

Quote:
Fire crews admitted it was a miracle no-one was hurt when a petrol tanker exploded in a huge fireball on the A34.

The blast, at 10pm on Saturday, happened 40 minutes after firefighters began hosing down the tanker.

Both carriageways were closed, but the road surface was repaired in time for today's morning rush-hour.

The driver first discovered the rear tyres were on fire when he stopped to check a puncture. After trying to tackle the blaze himself with his own fire extinguisher, he backed off and called the fire brigade. But the 50 firefighters on the scene couldn't prevent the flames spreading and the vehicle, containing 36,000 litres of unleaded petrol, blew up, sending flames hundreds of feet into the air.
