I can only comment on what I see in black and white and that is exactly what I am doing. The minutes of these proposals are correct are they not? Therefore have not all my comments been associated with these proposals and the persons advocating them?
If the GMBPDB wish to inform David Farmer that they will not make commitment to these proposals until such time they have had the opportunity to consider their consequences and consulted with their own membership, then they have to be commended.
It doesn't matter if the letter and proposals were sent or not, the GMBPDB has pre-emptied any premature misunderstanding in these proposals but it wouldn't surprise me if this lot sent the letter and proposals anyway, which would no doubt say a great deal about those participating in this exercise.
I suspect you would have been happy to have signed the document without consulting your membership. We shall see if the NTA consult all 60 or so their associations along with the ACCURATE DETAILS of what these proposals actually mean for cab drivers.
I have one question for you if you don't mind answering.
What happens to this process if the GMBPDB find these proposals not in the best interest of taxi drivers and reject them completely?
Perhaps the taxi trade could then get some real issues sorted out prompted by the GMB.
Personally I suggest dumping NAPHLEO because they have nothing whatsoever to do with the best interest of cab drivers, they have demonstrated that time and time again. I would also dump anyone who doesn't have a mandate from hackney carriage and private hire drivers.
Then perhaps the cab trade can gain back some of the ground that has been given away by you lot.
