Most accountants recommend the Sage range of software. Once you've got it set up, it is virtually idiot-proof, although it is not likely to be available other than through legitimate outlets due to the security features embedded within - However, I may be wrong!! :-$

Sage is expensive and not really worth spending the money for a single taxi driver.

If you are a one man band and will not fully utilise Sage's functionailities- I would look at something a lot cheaper like Microsoft Money. There are also a few free downloads which do basic accounting.

I have some which will cost you £4 once paid you will have it in your Email account within hours, it's easy to use and idiot proof, it adds everything up and subtracts everything for you putting it into the boxes at the end of the year for your accountant to simply charge you £150 for looking over your books. When you use this software you can get rid of your accountant.

As for invoice runs a simple programme from Microsoft will do the trick, just do a search on Microsoft for invoices.
