Discounting is a race to the bottom mate, you think your opposition wont discount again ? He doesnt really give a feck as long has he recieves his money every week. The only people losing are drivers. The jobs hard enough as it is !!

so even though the company has lost over 100,000 jobs to a company who has discounted slightly for fear of a price war they shud just take it or fight back and for once give him some competition

By the sounds of it, the price war has started. How low people will go before it ends will be any ones guess. As Blackpool says it is a race to the bottom with only one winner, the customer, until of course something happens to a cab because the driver could no longer afford to maintain it properly and the money saving customer gets injured or killed.

that was how it was always with all companies being shareholders, then came along this tool who dropped prices made millions and went unapposed.even if there is a price war fine aslong as it does unite drivers from both companies.

I understand where your coming from but do you think lowering prices further will acheive this ? You discount more, then whats to stop him lowering his fares again ? As i said hes not a driver hell still collect his rents.Maybe your directors need to be better at marketing and gaining new work.I work the streets and dont think he doesnt affect me,the amount of times i get asked do you take discount card ? Its tough i know but lowering fares wont necesarilly get your customers back. Its annoying how he operates aswell, half his drivers havent a clue where there going, how do they pass the test ? Good luck :D

yep its a tuff one and yes our directors perhaps need to step up to the plate but everything we have tried with giveaways some big prizes, coupons adverts both paper and radio has had zero affect other than we keep loosing more and more punters.
hopefully this will hurt him and or his drivers and change theyre attitude and hopefully unite us all

when a base imposes discounts it should only be if the rentals go down by the same amount

my discounts are +25% of HC rates....
