Blackpool started it with discounts

short jobs are always worth more if mainly with in the "flag" period, and theres no haggling on a meter.......normally

I charge £3 to the next village (1 mile) but only £10 for the next town (8 miles) and £15 to the LA base town (13 miles)

the second 2 illustrate the ease of route... or not, as the case may be

Never under sell yourself...Charge the £30 and then work on charming a gratuity out of them as well.

I dont start anything with discounts ,cause i dont do them :D As for your business brain wanna,short jobs are more lucrative ? Not when your waiting a hour or two for them ! :roll: Stick to what you know son,bargain hunt is on tv in a bit :badgrin:

but you dont do long jobs BP, how would you know whats beyond the city limits?

ive done rank work, 20 or 30 short jobs, used virtually no fuel and had £60 in my bag (15 to 20 years ago) for a short shift, and gone home happy

and I was working at a Tesco warehouse on admin/goods in so the taxi work was after that at night...

happy days

I do long jobs when im paid accordingly,15 or 20 years ago i could have took 60 quid in two hours ! Were talking now not the good old days !.Did you enjoy cash in the attic son :D
