our LO says that it can take up to 3 days of work to do all the necessary checks before issuing a license. :wink:

but if you will make an earning from that badge of course they are going to charge for that too, and they have to check you criminal records (if any) ETC

Their job is to licence, not charge because the owner/driver is making a profit, if thats right they will want to charge more pro-rata if you earn more, and they add on the cost of a CRB when due
