Jimbo, I know it's a long thread, with lots of material, but I did say the photo evidence elsewhere suggests that the sign above is a one-off rather than every sign in the area using 'ADVANCED' rather than 'ADVANCE'.

So maybe it's 'It says' rather than 'They say' [-(

...on the other hand, even the likes of Mogo uses ADVANCED.

As in, "Give your taxi service a professional edge with MOGO UK's Custom Taxi Door Signs" :-o

Presumably Mogo takes the generic approach to the t-word, but you'd think they wouldn't, particularly given the significance of the t-word as regards signage on PHVs [-X
