went out for a few hours, got to the rank, 3 cabs on rank and a white van in fourth slot, pulled along side wound me window down and said can you move old sport need to get on taxi rank

could not hear what he was saying so got out of cab and went round to his window, and said again politly, could you move your van off the rank so I can get on the rank

Don't start threatning us, the driver of the van said, at that time the cab driver in front of him got out and came over, their traffic wardens he says, I looked a bit closer and yes they was traffic wardens parked up killing time till finishing time

the cab driver told him a decent manner that they shouldn't be on the rank
the traffic warden said to him you shouldn't be here neither you have not got a plate on your vehicle [it was in his back window, temp plate]
the cab driver said thats no business of yours and said if the council are employing people like you god help us all

they continued to lay down the law that it was not a taxi rank [it is] it does not come under highways they said, I said what does that sign say and what does these road markings say, it says taxis, taxis, there answer, doesn't come under highways, there are no double yellows on the cab rank.

we asked for there ID badge and number but they refused to give it to us, then they drove off to finish work
I took photos and vehicle reg

do I complain to taxi licence and the traffic parking department about this, think I will get fobbed off with the parking department

Go to your local Police Station and ask to speak to the Senior Traffic Warden and explain to him the circumstances.

I have found that Senior Traffic Wardens take this kind of complaint very seriously, they are required by law to give you their identity number upon request.

If that doesn't work then make a complaint with the station inspector and inform your licensing officer.

Since parking became de criminalised the police will not be able to help you, you should first contact the Council parking superintendant and then suggest that all parking staff are made aware of section 64 of the local government miscelaneous provisions act, which explains everything, what time of night was this?

Parking has not been decriminalised throughout the UK, Pete's complaint was against people who he described as Traffic Wardens ................................ so the complaint should initially be made to their superior who is the Senior Traffic Warden.

If parking has been decriminalised in your area then do not make the miss take of assuming that the rest of the UK has done so.

I would do both, or maybe just to traffic copying it to licensing.

But whatever you do FFS don't park on any yellow lines for a while.
