About
Us
Our
original idea was to provide an online
forum to replace the now defunct
taxiforum.com, but we later decided to
add a few news stories, not only to
stimulate debate for the forum, but also
to provide a free news service for taxi
drivers the length and breadth of the
country. Our frontpage now
features some of our past
comment/opinion columns on some of the
major and ongoing issues facing the trade, while new
news and opinion is posted directly onto
the relevant parts of the forum.
Taxi
and private hire
Our aim is to appeal to both sides
of the cab trade - taxi (hackney
carriage) and private hire.
Obviously the two sides of the trade are
very far apart in some locations, while
closely integrated in others, but we
believe that the two sides are only
divided by licensing policies, and that
each provide a broadly similar
service. However, we appreciate
that there is a large amount of
animosity between the two trade, but we
hope that in attempting to appeal to
both sides we don't alienate either, and
that we can still conduct a civilised
and constructive debate.
The
team
We consist entirely of working
drivers, both taxi and private hire, and
situated from the north of Scotland to the
south of England.
Contributions
We welcome news
and opinion, and aim to
represent all sides of the various
arguments. Members can post their news
and views directly onto our forum, and
registration is easy. |
