"Steve, let me explain what I meant, you and you co horts are moaning about Station Taxis, yet you have written direct to East Coast trying to get back in, maybe you have been hypnotised, you are right about me not being clever, I paid good money for my licence never thought of stealing one from a pensioner.Oh and didn't you post earlier about not name calling, you never cease to amaze me."

Like I have posted earlier, there seems to be some confusion over my identity, maybe I should change my username !! Keep thinking !!!!
Where in my previous post has a name being called ??
It would appear however that you and your cohorts (yes, thats one word) are sharing private and confidential information, and advertising the fact ! Now thats not clever is it ?
You paid good money for your License !
Im sure the person who received your money thinks its good too !
Hmmm ! Who was the clever one there then ?
Unfortunately alot of people have paid good money for their licenses, but in the same breath, alot have received them legitimately from the council at no cost, earning thousands of pounds in rent over the years, and I applaud them all !
But unfortunately all good things come to an end, the cats have got fat off the cream and now theres only a little milk left in the bowl.
Id be more than peeeed off if id paid good money for something and someone comes along and gets the same thing for nothing, but thats sour grapes not milk.
a loophole has been exploited by plate holders for years, and during that time they have reaped the profits and saved thousands by not providing a vehicle for the license, instead, they insist that the driver paying rent also pays for the vehicle and all its running costs, even at the risk of losing their license, they try to get out of paying for a vehicle by asking the drivers to commit fraud and launder money for them by creating a paper trail i.e. Bank a cheque and give it back in cash !!! Is that right ? Is that MORAL ! and more to the point ! IS IT LEGAL ? I know what it is ! ITS GREED, GREED, GREED !!
The majority of plate owners that rent out, do own the vehicle and do pay the running costs and have done everything by the book, but it is the minority that have exploited the situation and it is their greed and complete lack of respect for the law, council and the guys that have paid 'good money' in rent that have brought this upon themselves.
Some people are screaming 'Theft', 'Its not right', ' its not moral', and of course the old chestnut that you seem to like throwing up ' your robbing a pensioner'. And of course 'the council will de-regulate because of this'.
All scaremongering, thats all it is, maybe to dissuade other rentals from taking similiar action to the famous four, it could well have been alot more than four. But it is these four who are now exploiting the same loophole that some unscrupulous plate owners have exploited for years to feather their nest. Take into account that, off the top of my head, 1 of the famous four has paid over £85,000 in rent over 7 years, 1 has paid over £35,000 in 3 years, and another has paid over £55,000 over 7 years, I hardly think anyone is out of pocket at the end of the day, apart from the rental driver, theres also the rent money earned from previous rental drivers over the years, Id say they have paid good money would'nt you.
Take into account the rent they would have paid over the next 5 years, say £40,000 to £50,000, or over the next 10 years £80,000 to £100,000, not to mention the running costs including insurance and the cost of a probable 3 or 4 vehicles over 10 years, all amounts to a hefty sum dont you think ?
Take into account the current credit crunch, introduction of more plates, the distinct drop in trade, and avin to work more and more hours to make ends meet and maybe you will understand just why the famous four have done what they have done.
You may also take into account that some plate owners have no interest in the drivers and would s**t on them at the drop of a hat just so that they can continue to fuel their greed, reap the profits and feather their nest without ever sitting on a rank themselves. without even owning a Taxi themselves or paying for its maintenance, without working 6/7 days or nights a week, without threat to their marriages or relationships or even their health.
Take all that into account Mr Thinker and tell me after you have thought long and hard that the famous four dont deserve a round of applause for sticking up for themselves and their famillies. They are not the thieves, they do have morals because they refuse to break the law, they are not robbing pensioners and it most certainly is right !
Flippin heck ! is that the time ? I best go do the dishes or I'll be in bother with 'she who must be obeyed'
