OOOOOOH yeah, so making it easy to get a free plate is going to help the treasury save money then is it? NO! all it will do is increase an already saturated workplace.
If the workplace becomes saturated (some would say it already is) it will be because for years, any fool could get a badge.
A situation which so far has suited the barons, including one plate barons like blackpool. It's made getting drivers easy and driven up rentals through competition.
His illusion is dependant on having a driver to pay him rental. Even if they don't delimit, the plate value is unsustainable without an over supply of drivers. Drivers who couldn't afford to play the game without state aid.
Withdrawing tax credits from the bogus self employed would save the treasury billions every year. Why would they care if the workplace is saturated?
No state crutch and your saturation problem would ease considerably. How many barons could afford to pay the minimum wage with sick/holiday/maternity pay etc to PAYE drivers?

I'm detecting anger issues in you Gusmac, are you alright my old son, you should see someone about that, don't want you turning like Mr Bird did do we, your no good to the PH Freedom Fighter Resistance dead are you

Your talking pish again.
Thanks for your concern doom, but I am perfectly calm. You mistake my cynical views for anger.
Blackpool is a worried man, like most who have ploughed cash into a plate illusion. He's not angry, though he may become so if his worst nightmares come to pass.
Take a look in the mirror doom, there you will see rage and anger.
Have you tried CBT BTW? I'm told it's very good.
Thankyou Gus, you just proved how ignorant you really are to the whole situation
If you have lots of people earning 5k pa you will find they will be claiming tax credits cos nobody can live on £100 pw or less these days, that's a bullet in that afaik.
I like Blackpool have been in this job for 25 years as well, I've had my plate 14 years and I gave 4 figures for it, each year I've had it it has saved me on average about £4-5k pa not having to be on a circuit, so 14x4 = £56000 14x5 = £70000, not a bad return overall, so should your crusade against big bad me ever come to be I'm still well infront of my outlay, plus my outlay should it go south is tax deductable if I hand the plate back due to it having no value, but over the years our plates have averaged 15 - 35k depending on the climate, as a lot have changed hands over the last 5 years and most of them in the 30k plus region that's a lot of money the tasx man is going to be missing should they become worthless, on my figures it's about £3M just here, wait until the rest of the country knows it's got a capital loss deduction due to it, ooooh I can see the Brighton boys wedging it in for £60k per unit in January, and I know you think I don't know what I'm on about, but think on mate, I had an investigation some years ago where they disqualified my allowances for the plate and I had to cough what I'd already claimed back, but he did tell me infront of witnesses that I was entitiled to either a loss deduction or the original amount would not be taxable if I made a profit on it, so all in all although it might look like to you I have something to lose like Blackpool I have had something out of mine, it's the guys who've stumped up recently I care about more, and PT drivers aren't an issue either, I'd rather a 3 day week man than a 7 day one all day and night long.
So, you carry on, you are going to cost the state something like £200M in lost revenue, and I've not even told you the loophole that leaves the government in limbo regarding being sued for asset theft yet, but it's there and I have it ready to at the very least get back my money, if not my money and future earnings that won't be there, you've heard of Human Rights haven't you, well it swings both ways and as I'm pig sick of the wrong people using it to their advantage I think it's time to put it to use for my benefit real soon.
Happy day to you and your clan of clinger bums.
