Do think he bought this as well?
It fechin baffles me as to why the Bus Service Operators Grant money should be wasted on the giant Merry-go-round of empty buses that pass through the Villages of the Scottish borders..They must think that by adding more and more subsidized buses on as many routes as possible that it will magically attract more folk into using more buses.......Wrong.....people love using their cars because they travel where the buses don't go and at a time that's convenient to the individual.
It Also fechin baffles me that in busy cities they need a subsidy at all, these bus companies should be made to run profitable routes without the need of free loading off Joe Public and his Tax Payers money.
If City buses aint making money it's because no ones using them and that infers an over supply of buses and an under demand by passengers..
Time to stop all this BSOG guff and let the Market sort itself out...running buses is only green if the buses are full..

Well, you've just about said it all, eh? It doesn't get any more simple than that.
We've had successive administrations in Edinburgh squandering fortunes on the altar of public transport. remember the £4million wheeze known as the busway? That ludicrous plan to put guidewheels on buses so the driver could put his feet up and not have to steer. Donald Anderson should be brought back and put in the stocks for that.
And the fact that the publicity brochures for the first Waterfront development homes had a picture of a tram on the front? How could they know trams were coming unless they'd been promised. Which suggests collusion between developers and politicians and intrinsic corruption. Were brown envelopes given to the scumbag local politicians to make this happen?
No one wanted Trams, yet they have been forced through at every stage. We all know they can't possibly operate without huge public subsidy. we also know that our excellent bus service will be destroyed to justify them. we've already seen busfares hiked above inflation rate to bring them towards where tram fares will have to be pitched. this process will continue until tram launch and beyond.
Edinburghers have been lied to. Our local councillors are LIARS. I suggest they've been shown to be corrupt. And it is going to cost us.
