Well I don't work the trade in Edinburgh but it is clearly something very special and different to every other major city in the Uk. I do however see the potential for the apps but as ph it is unlikely to generate much more work for me but it will certainly keep the punters that we have, who embrace technology, very happy indeed and stop them going to the likes of cabapp etc. So keeping my customers happy, priceless

Knowing that taxi drivers don't like change and certainly don't like paying somebody they perceive unworthy cos they don't work the trade one penny for anything is predictable. However what I don't understand is if you sign up and don't use it it costs nothing, if a job comes in that is too far away you don't have to take it and there are cheaper apps than time2taxi so what exactly is the problem in trying them out?
Exactly, what is the problem ?theres nothing to loose trying it,and if i get more work happy days
What is clear from the responses are that its competition to those paying for radio hire. And i can understand that.
But truth is nothing is upfront and it can be used or not used as the user pleases, and they can decline if the job dosent suit.
The Edinburgh tariff also allows the driver to add a 60p callout fee to the meter, so for me that imo means i add 40p only to pay the server or nothing for cabapp.
Theres as much possibility the consumer would have phoned phc otherwise.
Theres still not been much response from anyone using it, If i use it and its good i may keep quiet about it
