The only thing that was missing from this piece of 'investigate journalism' was a direct quote from part of Centrals' objection to the outer forecourt booking office licence. It's a belter by the way and quote "we object to the siting of the ECPH booking office on the outer forecourt as this is where the Army Bomb Disposal Unit needs to park in the event of being called to an emergency at the airport." I kid you not, it's on paper.

Tony, tell me you're not thinking about making a hoax call?

FFS Fat Boab, don't put an idea like that in an empty heed, next thing you know we'll have the same fiasco that happened at Glasgow Airport a while back!!!

Apparently, rumours bound, ECPH won't be at the airport tomorrow as they don't have enough cars to cover the rank

Now I don't believe rumours but if this is true and ECPH have fallen at he first hurdle then....BWAHAHAHAHAHA! I'll be pishing myself laughing

Personally, I think CRT has gotten it wrong. Their actions smack of desperation and sour grapes, especially with City Cabs throwing in with ECPH. I can’t see the council wanting to involve themselves with the potential legal repercussions of putting a halt to a 30 million-pound contract. And I think it’s asking a bit much to go out on a limb for CRT.

The fact is, any punter passing through the airport will have a choice of service, and if they want to book a Ph, what’s the problem? :-|

I hope for CRT's sake this objection is not the only arrow in their quiver. #-o

It is.

I hope not. Would be funny watching ECPH denied access to the airport!

The airport writes their own bylaws and when it comes to new buildings, holding areas or taxi ranks, they can move the goalposts as many times as necessary. CRT or the Council, for that matter, would never be done fighting the changes to accommodate ECPH, through the courts.

Nah, I think Tony and Murray haven’t thought this through. To stop the airport doing what they like you would have to go after their operation of running a restrictive practice and selling the punters on to the service provider. And even then it wouldn’t be easy but the fact the airport has so much to lose by the challenge. It might bring them to the negotiation table. :-|

I take it you are another eejit? You obviously haven't or don't want to understand what's going to happen tomorrow? There is no change to the current set up except the exodus of Poundland Taxis. There will be an Onward operation and there will be a City Cabs operation, just not any Central hobos. Heard rumours, I always thought better of you until now.

Love the avatar by the way.

Honestly, this is one of the cornerstones of their objections. This and wait for it, the other is "Onward have been operating illegally during their tenure." Excuse me but did Central Kensnowt not get into bed with Onward/ComCab and submit a joint business venture based on the previous set up?

Honestly with all the accusations and innuendo about bungs and sweetners going around, you could be forgiven for thinking MVF Kev, Murray (can I be bought?) and Tony Mitty have been on the take and payroll of the bad boys. For all their decision making and strategies point to this.

What you mean eejit? I'm laughing at the possibility that ECPH and their temporary licence might not even be at the airport tomorrow, especially after skull and Jasbar have been banging on about how ECPH will have the largest fleet and feeding the best work to themselves

As I was nearing the end of studying for the topographical exam, CRTs Tony just started studying with Bob Dewar and was driving Private Hire at the time

Longshanksed, ECPH will be there tomorrow in the form of Onward, they have signed up 90% of the Onward fleet. There will be no significant impact on the current set up.This fleet will be augmented with a back up if necessary of certain hand picked vehicles and drivers from the existing ECPH fleet.

Got you now. Even for the most cynical and sceptical of forum contributors it would be stretching it to put Tony Kensnowt in bed with anyone, well except his alter ego.

Now I know you have a keen interest and some say a considered interest in all matters taxi and PHC. Can you please give us your take on how Central have totally misunderstood and mismanaged the entire airport contract and subsequent fallout?

Story I heard was that ECPH wouldn't be at the airport Monday morning as they don't have enough cars in their fleet, therefore there would be no PH at the airport tomorrow as ECPH couldn't fill the numbers on their rank. Which would be the rank currently used by onward.

Didnt realise onward was still using their rank tomorrow

Longshanks, have you ever want to be anything more than just a brown nosing servile arshole? Your whole raison d’etre seems to be an unquestioning loyalty to anyone you perceive to be in a position of authority. :?

Tell me Longshank, have you at any time thought for yourself or questioned anything? :?

It’s not too late Lonshanks, there’s still time. You don't have to be a pri*k all your life? #-o
