=D> I think Mr Delta is starting to worry. See this link,
http://www.southportvisiter.co.uk/news/ ... ce-7351129 , the title for paper article states "Stark figures show taxi licence applications in Sefton are down by more than 20%". The number of people applying to driver a taxi in sefton is declining. The reason he wants to scrap the knowlegde test is so that he have more drivers, because taxi driving applications are down. Mr Delta is also facing competition from other liverpool taxi companies. In Liverpool, there are now two taxi companies (Future and Phoenix), which have black cabs but charge private hire rates. Phoenix taxis I believe
may be the cheapest taxis in Liverpool. Alpha a Liverpool taxi company is also as nearly as cheap as them and now has 500 drivers, an increase from a 100.
That article is from 1 July, and the 20% drop represents the difference between 2011 and 2014's numbers, a substantial time period. Mr McLaughlin (that's his real name) always wants more drivers, it puts money in his pocket and gets a car to people faster. He'll never stop recruiting. Customer decisions aren't just based on price, they're also based on speed and quality of service.
