So correct me if I am wrong? Les and his chums negotiated for a cheaper tariff over the Christmas and New Year period? That is to say, tariff 3 but no tariff 4 regardless of the days on which Christmas and New Year falls? :?

Doing the market at ingilston years ago we traders liked to Add on a little so as to take it off, giving the customer the feeling they had just got a discount, with Tarrif 4gate it's turned out to be the opposite, lose Tarrif 4 for an enhanced tarrif 3, charge less at night but charge more during the day, the reasoning was Tarrif 4 was out of control, I accepted that but felt a cap on both 3&4 was a compromise suitable for cabby and punter, as it turns out just like the add on too take off, we are taking off to add on, I still can't get my head round the take it off Peter so as to give it to Paul scenario that is the outcome of this whole Tarrif saga, the big problem though is the vast majority of cabbies don't care until it's too late.

Dougie, are you on something?

Tariff 3 is Tariff 3 - it simply means tariff 4 is not kicking in at 18:00h. So your tariff 4 is no more. And what's the pi*h about an enhanced tariff 3?

Oh and need I point out down here in East Lothian, it's a straight double tariff and not fare and a half. :?

And how's it a negotiation to want for less? :? :? I really do hope I am misunderstanding something here? :? :? :?

You are shi**ing me?   I haven't misunderstood?   So there is no enhanced tariff 3, whatever that means and there is no longer a tariff 4?

That must have been one hell of a negotiation.

The new Tarrif 3 is an enhanced Tarrif 3 Skull, as I said in my post I still can't get my head around it

Maybe someone who knows the Thinking behind it can offer the reasoning of it

You do understand what enhanced means? Even if you have a longer period over which tariff 3 operates, it's not enhanced in the true sense because you have lost tariff 4 as a consequence? It simply means you are working for less on the meter or a lower tariff over a longer period. :? You would actually have to increase the period of tariff 3 beyond that of tariff 4 for it to make sense, that would be an enhanced tariff 3.

Tell me I've gotten this wrong?

The fool who proposed it thinks it's a great plan maybe he can explain the workings of it , all I know is at the end of my nightshift I will have less money , therefore my earning potential has been cut but my driver will earn more for dayshift does that mean I need to up his rental to make up the difference , before you make a smart remark that won't happen only god knows how you got away with this .

The price/cost/charge of Tarrif 3 has been enhanced, Tarrif 4 has been scrapped, the new Tarrif 3 is now 24 hours over the Christmas/New Year period, the rise in Tarrif 3 comes around the middle of the old 3&4, simples but achieves nothing

Why don't you explain this with a side by side comparison so that everyone can understand? :?

Oh and don't get me wrong Dougie but I've always been interested in idiocy, so I'm curious to know how this is an improvement on what you already had? :?

What we really need is Les to explain the brilliance behind his plan? =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

An explanation is not required Gary as the rest of the black cab trade of Edinburgh are disgusted by this tariff change.
Changes within the black cab trade of Edinburgh should be decided by the black cab drivers of Edinburgh and not a Commercial company.

To be fair to Les, you really need to see a side by side comparison of what was proposed and why? You never know, you might end up better off? I doubt it but there must have been some sort of logic behind the move to do away with tariff 4 in favour of an "enhanced" tariff 3? Although it does seem to be another monumental fu*k up on behalf of Les and co. but you can also be sure there must be something in it for them or why would you agree to it? :?
