Sad news Artur. Stina is no longer with us. She succumbed to a poor oxygen supply while scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef. The Stockholm Gang are still going strong and are asking for you my friend. They still laugh thinking of the night on the Seven Fathoms Rum. That was a night to remember.
I'm not sure I could walk the 18 Artur, the old legs are becoming more and more unreliable. I think your still owe me 200 Gildas from our last foray.
It was rather predictable that Skull would still be using this vehicle as his only way of keeping an interest in the taxi trade, and an outside one at that. There is no threat from Uber or Get Taxi as long as the drivers/owners provide a first class service. That remains the hardest part of the business. It's the threat from within that is the biggest problem.
There seems to be a few anti the establishment venting they're views as usual. I would much prefer them to leave the company if they are so unhappy than blight on about Bully Boy tactics.
As for PR. Trying to understand his ramblings are like trying to solve the Rubicks Cube.
Artur. See you in the Cayman's in June.
That is very tragic news but at least she passed away doing something she loved. Costner as she was known to friends after that classic 1995 film Waterworld will be sadly missed. How is Olaf holding up?
Maybe we should cheer him up with a trip to Prague and a weekend on the Slivovice and Becherovka. Though no midgets this time.
Regarding the golf I'm sure you'd be able to manage if we got a golf cart. That Cayman air will breathe new life into those old legs.
The furore with the introduction of Getaxi and Uber is predictable. Their operation has the reek of an 80's kitchen fitting firm that promised the world but failed to deliver.
Friends in the city say Uber is so overvalued that to justify its share price it's moving into delivering pizzas. I know some my say Shaddap you face but it's true....
http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2 ... e-ubereatsOne last memory of Stina....do you remember the first trip the Stockholm crew made to the Roskilde festival?? Storming the stage to end green days set after I told her they were a hibs tribute band. All that and she didn't even like football. Stina always knew right from wrong though.
Oh Artur, some moving tributes to say the least. Olaf had a chuckle to the Costner tribute after the film Waterworld. He says to tell you it was more likely after "Dances with Wolves" as she would have blended in with a pack of hounds. The trip to Prague was an experience never to be forgotten. I remember the Midgets Kev & Tone getting us into some real trouble, but on the whole they were gems. As for Green Day, Stina always had your back Artur.
The whole Uber App fiasco seems to have the natives up in arms. Skull talking shi&e as usual and this TRTD has a "real" b in his bunnet. Your right Artur, customer service will be the deciding factor in the end. I would think that the business practices of a certain discounting radio company has done more damage to the Edinburgh Taxi Trade than Uber or Get Taxi will.
The golf cart is the way ahead Artur. Do you remember the last time we played 18 holes?
Your views are always a breath of fresh air Artur.
