He also featured in a Documentary about some war in another country some years ago when the SAS got pinned down, it was his regiment who were firing over the SAS adding covering fire so the SAS could get their injured lads out.

The Operator had every right to see his CRB because like you he would've been transporting children to school.

Is that opinion or law?

Unwritten law round here, they all look after each other.

Does it matter, the operator asked and the driver obliged. I don't think it's illegal to ask to see it. Anyway perhaps this will help clear it up

Quote:
How do I get to see the DBS certificate?
As from 17th June 2013 DBS now only issue one paper certificate which they send to the applicant. Employers will have to request to see the certificate from the applicant.

You can check the process of an application using your Disclosure Services web account to find out when a certificate has been issued. If you have used the online e-bulk service you will also get access to Disclosure numbers and dates, and notification whether the disclosure is clear or contains conviction information, but you no longer get informed about the details of the content of disclosure.

If an employee hasn't brought their certificate in to their employer within 28 days of the issue date, the employer can instruct Disclosure Services to request a reprint of the certificate from the DBS. A reprint will be posted directly to the employee.

He would have had to pass an interview and provide references before being considered for a job.

In the situation that you are referring to the employer would be the people requesting the DBS, in this case the Council and not someone who is not registered for such things. You, as an operator can't get the form and send it in to the DBS office unless you are registered.
