Just to kind of let you guys know about this, Wiltshire is divided into 4, with North, South, East and West Zones, I am a driver in the West and Salisbury is South zone. In the West Zone we always had 3 tariffs for up to 4 passengers and for the last 4 years there was no increase at all while the rest of the zones were on higher tariffs. They decided to have a consultation on whether or not to unify the zones and that was rejected but they planned to bring us all in line to have the same fares in the whole county.
This 2 tariff system is news to me as N, E and W zones always had 3 tariffs and ours in the West was T1 £2.20 and then £2 a mile, T2 was £3.20 and then £3 a mile and T3 £4.20 and £4 a mile, T1 was 06.00 to 23.00, T2 23.00 to 02.00 and T3 02.00 to 06.00, the new tariffs which were set up was T1 £3.20 start £2 a mile, T2 £4.50 £3 a mile and T3 £5 and £4 a mile. T5 and T6 are for over 4 seats but to save overcomplicating it I'm leaving it out.
We have a lot of OAPs who rely on us for getting them to and fro and we have a lot of MOD who use us too and even a pound extra could drive them away so we decided to knock a pound off at the end of journey and it has worked, at the end of the day we never had it for 4 years when fuel prices started to affect us so why should we take it now, we have built custom and the council have allowed us to do it the same as every other company.
They have also brought T2 in half an hour earlier and are running it half an hour later to 02.30, just as a lot of the clubs in the Wiltshire towns (Not a city like Salisbury) kick out, yes we need to make money but we also need to make sure that the punters still get into our cars instead of walking home.
ARE YOU SERIOUS FFS NO WONDER THE TRADES FEKKED ...................WHY NOT TAKE EMM FOR NUFFING
