Gett, or whatever company buys them or merges with them aren't going anywhere. Apps are here to stay, and for an app to be successful in an area like London with 75'000 lost cars (PH) you need a few million to promote and advertise it.
Most drivers probably don't have £6000 laying around to join an established owner driver circuit, and if they did and their face didn't fit, you're expelled on a the whim of another few taxi drivers.
Gett and other app's gives you that freedom.
Their promotions more often than not gain you money, opposed to lose it.
Theres a £10 promotion on at the moment around central London, the punter pays the meter (acc credited) and I get £10. Most jobs have been under the £10.
The jobs fixed over 6 miles have all come in at a reasonable rate so far, if they look too cheap, I don't accept them.
Edinburgh generates a lot of future orders, as I can view them on my driver box. I'd say its a godsend to those excluded from the two main circuits or drivers who like me work very much on a part time basis.
No one forces you to accept work from Gett.
