Cabby John 1,
If you read the post properly (as you suggested others do further up the thread) you will see I put:
At 2 miles in PHTM you are worse off than us. But with our high Flag Fall and your low one it gives a false picture.
You suggest “I see that you are ranked at 175 and us (and I am not bragging) 230.......I guess PTHM and I, have both go it wrong” and at two miles you are both right, but I say again the picture is false.
Due to a typo I suggested that you get 28p per mile more than us, it should have been 38p as I am sure you realise having looked at both tariffs.
Your Tariff after midnight adds £1.00 whilst ours adds 50p at 7pm and another 50p at midnight. Both Tariffs charge the same mileage rate.
So AFTER MIDNIGHT, at 1 mile you get £4.80 whilst we get £5.00 (160 yards short) then at 2 miles you get £6.40 (105 yards short) and at 2 miles we get £6.70 (320 yards short). At 3 miles you have £8.20 and we have £8.20 (80 yards short). From this point you move ahead of us at 38p per mile.
At ten miles your meter gives £20.00 (109 yards short) and we achieve £17.50 on ours. If the PHTM table was calculated at the 10 mile point, we in Plymouth would be in the bottom 10 in the country and Cardiff would be in top 100 - so I would rather have your Tariff.
Now, this is seriously meant, do you want a copy of the Tariff calculator I made, so you can produce some suggestions for your Trade Colleagues and the LA?
If you don’t like your Tariff, get your Tariff changed.
Right! I will say once again...read the post properly - FROM THE BEGINNING.....the very beginning!
The situation arose from punters not being able to get home from 2/3/4 o'clock in the morning, so I see no point in you mentioning any tariff 1.2.3.4/whatever because it is not relevant. I also believe that I have mentioned in this post or maybe another that the terrain/layout also has a big impact as to how you/I get around the various areas. The point being is that neither Cardiff or Plymouth who may have the same or similar tariff, would not necessarily earn the same, because the layout would/can affect earnings quite dramatically i.e you cannot compare area to area unless you have the same/similar layout. On that basis I am not going to keep on responding just to score points against you/get the last word etc.
Do you not think that .......

.... if it were that simple - that it would be done. You have to remember.....I can see the problems, as I can see the problems with the U.K PLC.....unfortunately as an individual...I cannot do sod all. Do you honestly think that the Council/L.A of Cardiff are going to listen to a lone voice?
