No this about amalgamating...Liverpool...Sefton..Knowsley,,and the rest into one licence..
Would that mean more effective enforcement ? If so that might have positive benefits
Firstly, remember the word chaos? What it means and how it's used.
Secondly, I am interested in your train of thought. You are the people that will be making a living from taxiing in the future. You will have to live with the burdens that other people create that affect your businesses, the same as I have had to do with the way their laws have affected my business in the past, the way I make my living.
Licencing officers tend to fall into two associations. One is the Institute of Licencing and the second is NAFLO (I think). Please correct if wrong. Now this association has been pushing for licencing to be taken away from councils and transferred to national government which would mean them working under a new structure and obviously a higher pay band, so self interest is present. There will have to be changes because with the introduction of apps, nobody in licencing at local level seems to have any control over the way they work.
Interestingly enough, I was watching an Uber car the other day with 2 young men in the front, wearing baseball caps, cans if coke in hand and driving round Sefton. Over the course of the day I saw them four times. I wonder what they were up to. Certainly no company will report them. It's your future. You need to have your views heard in the right places, not me. I am semi-retired now and will be fully retired when it suits.
