That's not the way the law works I'm afraid.
Seems fare has been paid, but wouldn't be surprised if police had never been involved anyway.
Scottish Sun not holding back in naming him though, unlike the more restrained Aberdeen Evening Express.

Connor Cruikshank left a driver from Aberdeen Taxis £45 out of pocket after doing a runner this morning, but left his bank card behindA MAN has been named and shamed by an Aberdeen taxi firm for feeling their car without paying.
Aberdeen Taxis posted an angry status on Facebook this morning saying that Connor Cruikshank had fled from one of their cars to avoid paying.
The driver was left £45 out of pocket but then discovered his passenger’s bank card in the back seat.
And the cab firm said police had been contacted but were willing to drop any charges if the punter came forward to pay his dues.
A worker at the firm told us today that the bill had been settled.
This morning’s Facebook post contained a grab of Connor’s profile and read: “This cool dude on the right Connor Cruickshank thought it would be a sound idea to do a runner this morning. He took a taxi from our booking office to Banchory leaving the driver £45 out of pocket.
"What Connor was not smart enough to realise is that he left his bank card in the back of the taxi, silly boy Connor!
“Police have been informed but we were hoping our kind Facebook community would share this to allow Connor’s friend’s and family to see.
“If Connor is kind enough to make contact and pay the driver he has agreed to drop the police charges. As no matter how rock and roll you thought you were in your moment of wisdom it is indeed a criminal offence.
“Connor once your tail comes out from between your legs please call.”
Facebook users responded with a mix of amusement and disgust.
Laine Milne said: “Oh my god that’s brilliant. Well done Aberdeen Taxis. Shame on you Connor, you utter eejit.”
Iain White said: “Haha dumbass charge him double for being so stupid.”
Jillian Reith said: “What an a***.”
Connor himself replied to the post and appeared to admit the stunt before making arrangements to belatedly pay the fare.
He said: “Bit mad last night oi oi.”
The firm replied: “Are you paying up then?” and after he promised to do so added: “We look forward to hearing from you then.”
Connor has not responded to an approach for comment.
