Maybe it's just me, but almost didn't read this, because from the headline I assumed it was passenger on passenger, or similar.
But halfway down the article it becomes clear that it's the driver who's been accused.
So I don't know if it's maybe just the way the Hull Daily Mail has framed this here, but can't find any mention of this on Humberside Police social media or elsewhere, so this must have gone directly to this press outlet

The woman said she was travelling in the north Hull area when she had an argument with the driver about the route he was taking her. He was then alleged to have assaulted her.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "Enquiries are ongoing after we received a report of an assault in Hull on Wednesday 23 October. It is reported at around 8.30 pm that a woman sustained facial injuries following an altercation inside a taxi.
"Investigations are in their early stages, and we would encourage anyone with any information to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 567 of 23 October. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
